Sad news always make us worry

Another piece of very sad and bitter news. What’s happening to our parties ? Ganga Bhujel alias Gajendra, district secretariat member of Solukhumbu Young Communist League (YCL) was shot dead during a clash between the YCL cadres and Nepali Congress supporters at Gora VDC-9 in Sishakhola Wednesday morning.
A press release issued by Central Communication Bureau of CPN (Maoist) claimed that Bhujel was shot by the Tarun Dal cadres acting on the instruction of NC leader Bal Bahadur KC.
Contrary to the claims put up by the CPN (Maoist), NC central member K.C. maintained that they were intercepted and attacked by the Maoists first.
“About 150 Maoist cadres attacked us with rods and sharp weapons when we were going for a mass meeting. I barely managed to save myself when a bullet was fired at me,” K.C. told the media.
About a dozen of YCL members including district secretary Himal and locals sustained injuries during the clash.
Denouncing the NC claim, the CPN-Maoist said in a press statement that the clash ensued when the NC cadres led by leader KC tried to dismantle a platform prepared by the YCL for campaigning.
The CPN (Maoist) party in Solukhumbu has decided to call an indefinite strike from Thursday. The press statement said that the locals organised a rally to protest the killing and demanded action against NC leader KC.
The NC in a press statement said more than two dozen Nepali Congress workers including NC central committee members and candidate Bal Bahadur K.C. were injured in the clash.
A dozen NC workers including leader K.C. were airlifted to Kathmandu and admitted at Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital for treatment. Leader K.C. sustained serious head injuries in course of the attack.
K.C.’s brother Ram Kumar K.C and NC activist Rajendra Basnet were seriously injured in the scuffle and other workers including Pema Tamang, Kedar Karki, Mohan Bohara who were attacked by sharp weapons and sustained injuries are undergoing treatment at Teaching hospital, NC said. Others are undergoing treatment in Solukhumbu.
NC general secretary Ram Chandra Paudel accused CPN-Maoist of resorting to criminal activities fearing the people in the elections.
NC has condemned the series of attacks against its workers in different parts of the country. NC said that Maoists Wednesday kidnapped two NC workers in Nawalparasi – Reshamlal Thapa and Rajan Parajuli.
